N + V
There’s truly something to be said when it comes to having a session grow organically. I had the pleasure of doing a session with Noi and Vu last year; a bittersweet session in that it was the end of a relationship with an incredible venue, and the beginning of a relationship with two awesome people. I couldn’t have been more excited/nervous when Noi (of Noi Tran Photography) contacted me to photograph such a special moment; their five year anniversary. We had high hopes of a certain venue which we, after complications arose, ended up having to search the internet for a place that felt comparable; Noi found something better.
A new vineyard, nestled in the North GA mountains, had just come to be, and we had the pleasure of being some of the first to experience it. The doors were open and we were given absolute freedom to play. God graced us with some gorgeous post-storm light that brought out the true essence of Yonah Mountain Vineyards. We tasted wine, scoured the landscape, explored in the Jeep, and sucked in all the glory of what the landscape had to offer. Noi even let me take a snap with her Mamiya 645AF which completely made my day; the image is tagged below.
I look to photography as a way to explore beyond my norm; an escape, if you will, from the day-to-day. I used to think that new faces and stories meant that the road was being paved with every individual step, however I’ve recently come to realize that the path feels much better when it’s been set with a strong foundation. Return-clients are where it’s at; I’m not only capturing the growth of those in front of the camera, but allowing room to grow for the man behind it as well.
Congratulations, Noi & Vu, on your 5th year wedding engagement; I wish you both the best.
