I had such an awesome morning with these guys! Maddox was a little skeptical at first, however within minutes he became a total ham for the camera. We took a nice morning stroll through Roswell Mill and then headed off for an awesome breakfast. If all family shoots were like this I would want to do them every day!!

I’m starting to enjoy these family/baby sessions…wait, should I really be admitting this!? My big fear has always been that I would get forced into doing “Pinterest” setups, or posed shots that tell you nothing about the wonderful personalities within them; I’m so happy that my sessions thus-far have allowed me to capture these wonderful little people in their own element and give them something to look back on and say, “Hey, I still do that”!
Savannah’s parents are very dear friends of mine and I’m so thankful they let me come in and enjoy a beautiful fall morning with them and Savvy. These are just a few of my personal favorites from the day. Enjoy!!

This day was nothing more than epic for me; I hope it shows as this is the largest blog post I’ve done to date. Lately, I’ve reassessed myself and what wedding photography means to me; I’m here to tell a story and nothing more. This story is definitely worth telling…
I arrived in Chattanooga on that rainy Saturday morning pondering my escape plan, as I’ve yet to photograph a wedding while drowning in a steady flow of summer rain. The utter calm and serenity offered by Megan and Logan gave me a profound confidence that the day would be magical regardless of the sky’s decision. Each and every item detailed in this post was done by the hand of these individuals and their family; keep in mind that many of these details were set up in the rain while hoping the sky would crack a smile and stop shedding its tears.
The day moved on as planned and out of nowhere, the sky did just that; not only did the rain stop, but we were granted one of the most beautiful sunsets we could have imagined.
Megan + Logan, thank you so much for letting me share such an insanely awesome day with you. I sincerely hope that these images touch you in the way they did me. Much love.

OH MY GAH JOE!! These photos are absolutely AMAZING! You captured so many memories for us to hold on to forever! Words cannot describe my nervousness when I was asked to do my very first newborn session…I have purposely avoided these for some time now having known what actually has to go into them in order to make something great happen! Luckily, Bill and Pam were quite awesome in that they made me feel as comfortable as could be and allowed me to be myself. I couldn’t be happier with these, and I’m proud to say that though this doesn’t look like a typical newborn shoot, it looks exactly like an O’Studios one. ;-)
Thank you both for letting me spend a relaxing morning with you to capture your new life as you’ll always remember it. I wish your family the best in the years to come. Enjoy!

Joe, this is truly beautiful. I am wishing we could go back in time and you could do this for me. Because you’re right, it doesn’t look like a typical newborn shoot, it is much more natural. Your shoot gives a glimpse into the most perfect moments of life with a new baby – the ordinary but incredibly intimate moments. I love the shots with the parents in them, or the hand in the crib with the baby. You really captured a season of life for this family, and even the dog! I know my dog was making faces like that too when we brought home our first baby.
I am just in love with all these photos! Great work as usual, and I applaud your courage in branching out.
